Dust rods are commonly used for small-scale cable pulling in confined areas like walls, ceilings, or underground ducts. They provide precise control for threading cables through complex pathways.

2. Capstan Winches: A capstan winch is a mechanical device used for pulling cables over long distances. The winch features a rotating drum (the capstan) around which a pulling rope is wound. As the capstan rotates, it pulls the cable or rope with a controlled, steady force, minimizing the risk of cable damage.
